Beckham's time in Italian is over, at least for now.  His loan to AC Milan ended on Sunday.  He's now forced to come back to the LA Galaxy.  You know, the club that is paying the fading star about $1million a week, made him the centerpiece of the entire league, and made it possible to showcase his wife in an unbelievable boring reality show on Bravo for, what was mercifully, just one season.

Then again, when I think about the state of soccer in the MLS, maybe a a million a week isn't enough to have to play soccer in the U.S.

Who needs this guy? Soccer in the USA sucked without him for years. It still sucks with him, and will continue to suck when he's gone.

As much as I love the beautiful sport, I just don't see soccer becoming a major U.S. sport.  Maybe it can stay a viable league in this country but...major sport?...I don't see it...no matter what foreign superstar they pay to come play here half-heartedly.
