Washington Nationals' outfielder John Willingham became the 13th player in Major League Baseball history to hit two grand slams in the same game.
The last player to do it was Boston Red Sox Bill Mueller in 2003 and before Mueller it was another Boston Red Sox player, Nomar Garciaparra hit two grand slams in the same game in 1999. Willingham is not the player you would think to see hit two grand slams in a single game but besides Frank Robinson who hit two grand slams in 1970, none of the 13 players on the two grand slam list fit the description. Willingham finished the game against the Brewers with 8 RBI's and tied the franchise record in Washington.
So in one week, this baseball season has brought us a perfect game by Mark Buehrle just a week ago and now 2 grand slams in one game by Josh Willingham. Way cool. You can watch the two grand slams HERE.
