Anyone catch the Concacaf Gold Club final yesterday? Anyone? Anyone? Well, for all of yous who missed it, the U.S. got it's ass handed to it by Mexico 5-0. Yeah, 5-0. In soccer. That score is embarrassing enough in baseball, now put it in soccer world and fugghedaboutit! What did I say about the U.S. team getting us all excited and then blam--reality hits us in the kisser -- they were beyond humiliated by Mexico at Giants Stadium 5-0.
Then again, it could be less about the U.S. and more about Mexico which has been lackluster recently. Maybe they've gotten their groove back and are signaling that they are back to play some serious futbol. Because by the way, Mexico played a mostly B-list roster during that beatdown.
