Dodger lead over the Rockies in the NL West:  One game.

What is there to say?

More ugliness as the Dodgers limp to the playoffs -- unfortunately they have already clinched a playoff spot so I will be forced to see them get kicked around in the first-round. Yeah, I know, there's no correlation between a team's record at the end of the season and its performance in the playoffs but you don't think this stink is bound to linger.  At least a little bit?

The Dodgers got rolled by Colorado.  At home.  By a team that was still hung over after partying after clinching a playoff spot the previous afternoon.  After Tommy Lasorda gave an emotional pre-game pep talk.  Did I mention it was also Tommy's 60th Dodger anniversary celebration?  Tommy.  Lasorda.  The man who could motivate the dead to rise up and win a game.  It wasn't enough.

In case you don't understand.  This loss means that the Dodgers' losing streak with a magic number of ONE is now at five games.  Let me repeat:  The Dodgers' losing streak with a magic number of ONE is now at five games.

So, the Dodgers did not only not clinch the division title, they also did not clinch home-field advantage through the playoffs.  Our game one playoff pitcher was inconsistent.  And you couldn't watch the offense:  one for 19 with runners in scoring position in the last four games.  That is not a typo:  1 for 19.  Look it up if you don't believe me.  I've watched it in stunned silence so I know it's true.

I've always said I didn't want substances in baseball.  I think I've changed my mind.  Manny has been unable to function since he's come back from suspension.  Just last night, he struck out looking in the first -- with a runner on second base.  In the third, with the bases loaded, he was at the plate for a wild pitch that scored in a run but then he struck out swinging.  In the fifth, with two outs and again a runner on second, he struck out again.  Then to cap off the night, in the seventh, with two runners on base and the team rallying from a 4-1 deficit, Manny strikes out swinging.  Just Manny being Manny.  He's so ugly out there that Dodger fans are booing him.  And Dodger fans never boo their own.  They do now.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

how quickly they turn on ya Man-Ram. It took Sox fans ten years. It takes Dodger fans 10 minutes. So sad.
